Donations

What kind of items do you collect?

We collect gently used or new coats. While all sizes are needed, we especially need children's coats and men’s and women’s extra large coats.

Do you collect anything other than coats?

We only collect coats. We are unable to accept rain boots, rain coats, snow boots, ski pants, hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves.

Where do I donate my coats?

All Dependable Cleaners location in the Denver metro or Boulder area will accept your donated coats. See our list of locations.

When can I donate my coats?

You can drop off coats during normal business hours at any Dependable Cleaners location in the Denver metro or Boulder area between October 1 and November 30.

Can you pick up the coats I collect?

Due to limited resources we are unable to pick up coats. If, however, you have hundreds of coats and a problem getting them to us, please email us at [email protected] with your request.

Tax Status

Are my donations tax deductible?

Dependable Cleaners – Coats for Colorado is a charitable organization as described in IRS Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code. You should consult with your tax advisor about whether you may deduct your contributions.

Non-Profit Distributions

Who receives the coats?

We distribute coats to more than one hundred non-profit agencies by appointment. If you are a non-profit agency interested in scheduling an appointment, please call 303-777-2673 and press 4, or send us an email at [email protected].

I represent a non-profit organization. How can we receive coats?

Please call 303-777-2673 and press 4 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are on Wednesday mornings between 9 a.m. and noon at the Dependable Cleaners warehouse at 1701 South Broadway. Distributions begin the last week in October and generally run through the first week of December. You must possess proof of IRS Section 501(c)(3) charitable organization status.

What should our organization bring the day of our scheduled distribution?

You MUST bring proof of your 501(c)(3) status. YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED WITHOUT IT. The person whose name the appointment is under also must be in attendance.

Can schools get coats for students in need?
